Internship Opportunities
with the Institute
Swiss Finance Institute takes on interns across the work of running the Institute: wealth management, investor relations, legal — both securities litigation and intellectual property — public relations and media, and investment banking. These are intern-level roles, and interns usually see more of the Institute than their own brief.
The Areas
Interns join one area and work to it, but the Institute is small enough that the walls are thin: a legal intern sits close to the media work, an investor relations intern sees how the wealth management material is built. Most interns leave having seen a good deal more than the area they arrived for. Where someone brings a capability we can use — program development, research, operations, technology, writing — we will find the work.
Wealth Management
Supporting the Institute’s teaching and research on private wealth: portfolio construction, asset allocation, and the material used to teach how wealth is managed at institutional standards.
Investor Relations
How institutions communicate with the people who fund them. Interns work on research, briefing material, presentation preparation, and the reporting practices taught across our programs.
Legal — Securities Litigation
Research, chronology-building, document analysis, and drafting support on securities-litigation matters, working alongside the Institute’s counsel.
Legal — Intellectual Property
Trademark and brand-protection work: filings and records, monitoring, document review, and the research behind the Institute’s protection of its marks.
Public Relations & Media
Communications planning and written materials, plus video, editing, design, and digital production for the Institute’s channels and teaching content.
Investment Banking
The sell-side craft as the Institute teaches it: valuation and modeling material, case and transaction research, and the preparation of teaching materials used in the Residency.
Intern-level roles are arranged around the work available and the intern’s capacity, and the terms are set out in writing before anyone starts.
Interns here are given real work, and the room to be taught while they do it.

Capability, Seriousness, Initiative
Interns work on real Institute matters, so the standard is professional: careful work, clear writing, discretion, and the initiative to take a task and finish it well. Students, recent graduates, and career changers are all welcome, as are candidates without conventional résumé markers who have genuine ability.
Internships and roles are arranged individually around the work available. Terms are set out in writing before anyone starts — and those terms never include a payment from you to the Institute.

Swiss Finance Institute never charges anyone for an internship or for employment. There are no fees, no tuition, no deposits, and no payments of any kind to intern or work for Swiss Finance Institute.

What does carry tuition is education. The Residency, our main offering, and our executive-education programs are paid educational courses. They are not internships and they are not employment, and they are never combined with or priced into an internship or role.

- Residency Focused Track: $15,000 (or 50% upfront, then $625/month for 12 months)
